Macro Imaging System
Development is currently underway to build custom and robust Macro-photography solutions for cultural heritage, and STEAM community. Follow along as we post updates of the system Optical Capture in the blog.
Combined uXRF and CT Analysis
Multimodal analysis is an area I enjoy researching. Often specific scientific techniques are employed to solve a problem. However, when we use multiple techniques to look at the broader picture we find and discover so much more about the items or subjects in question. Take a look under the Media section of my Publications page to get some amazing examples of multimodal analysis that I get to carry out.
Cultural Heritage Specimens
Analysis of cultural heritage and museum specimens is always a challenge. Upmost care through the use of non-destructive techniques is employed to learn more about our past. I am in the process of writing and running a series on uXRF and its use in cultural heritage studies.
3D Printing of Cultural Heritage and Scientific Samples
In collaboration with my colleagues in various history departments around the world, I get to work on some sensational cultural heritage samples and get to 3D print them so further analysis and study can be carried out without interacting with the object. Protecting the item for future generations to learn and appreciate.
Custom Parts for scientific and research equipment.
Always happy to collaborate, design, implement and bring new solutions/products for research and industries to develop better process to carry out their important work.
Optical Microscopy Restorations and Gallery
Rescuing old equipment destined for the scrap yard and giving them a new life. Never one to let a good old instrument die, I am always on the lookout for old equipment to repair and send to a good home when I can. As I get more images together, I will have a blog on microscope repairs and restorations as well as a gallery to show what these old scopes can still do.
